- If you want to transfer your domain
to us and enjoy lots of features
for a very low price, you use our
transfer services to switch your
domain name service to Namecheap.
- We don't charge for setting up
the transfer. All we charge is for
minimum one extra year registration
that will be added on top of the
existing registration time. For
example, if you transfer a domain
name for a minimum of one year and
if the domain already has 6 months
on it, then, after transfer your
domain will have 1 year 6 months
to expire. Look at our pricing

Domain
name Transfer Prerequisites
- For transferring .biz, .us, .org
and .info domains, please get your
EPP Authorization code from your
current registrar.
- Your domain should be atleast
60 days old (meaning, atleast 60
should have passed after you registered
the domain name.)
- Your domain name should not be
expiring within the next 7 days
from today. The possibility of the
domain name not getting transferred
is very high in this case.
- You should have your e-mail address
available on administrative contact
for the domain you are transferring.
Use WHOIS to find out if your email
is listed in the adiministrative
contact section.
Domain
name Transfer Process
- Specify the domain name you want
to transfer to us
- Make sure that the domain's WHOIS
shows your e-mail in the administrative
contacts
- Also make sure that the domain
doesn't expire within 7 days
- Choose the number of years you
want to transfer the domain to namecheap
- You should contact your current
registrar for .info, .us, .org and
.biz domain names and obtain an
EPP authorization number and send
it to us.
- Once the domain name transfer
is submitted, you will receive an
e-mail with a link on it. (As said,
the e-mail will be sent to the administrative
contact of the domain)
- You should click on the link to
approve the transfer
- Once the link is clicked, the
transfer begins
- You can check the status of the
transfer using the 'transfer status'
page in the control panel.
- If the status says : Action required,
please read what exactly it says
and please perform the necessary
steps.
- Once the domain name transfer
is complete, the domain will be
added to your account.
